I'm glad you're back.
[And she is.]
And I'm...I'm doing okay. Are you feeling any better?
[It feels like a lot has happened the past few weeks.]
no subject
[No, stop.]
I am doing very well. There were perhaps one or two missteps, but it is a process. I had several good conversations with people I had upset and hurt.
[Hopefully, Marcel's satisfied with that much, because Toki can't keep up that way of speaking around Adelaide.]
I'm worried about you, Adelaide. Are you really okay? You can tell me anything, you know... Can I hug you?
[It's so awkward to ask, but Marcel would just pull him back if he tried without warning.]
no subject
I'm glad you're doing okay...
[Even though she sounds uncertain.]
Of course you can hug me. [She opens her arms, ready to embrace him.] And I'm doing okay! I promise. Things have been...calming down.
no subject
Okay, but... that offer stands.
[He won't press if Adelaide doesn't want to talk about things. She's here and she's apparently doing okay.]
no subject
I'll consider it.
[She laughs softly, before pulling back.]
So...what's with your new friend?
no subject
[All that being everyone else's safety, mainly. Marcel gives Adelaide a nod; but that's the extent of his interaction.]
He's going to help me for a while... Stop me before I... do things... Which I don't think I'm going to, but... You never know~!
[The laugh that follows is a little sad. He's trying his best, but it's hard when it seems no one trusts him to do anything at all unsupervised. He agrees with it, to a certain point. It's just unfortunate that it came to this.]

[Adelaide frowns a little at that, looking between Marcel and Toki. Constant surveillance.
She doesn't think that's what Toki needs. She thinks he just needs someone to help him to understand where to draw the line, not a glorified babysitter.]
Do you...ever get any privacy? Like, could we have a conversation with him...waiting outside or something?
no subject
[Marcel answers, of course. But he's quick to unclip the leash and walk down the hall towards the common room. He's uninterested in most of these mundane conversations.
Toki waits until he's out of earshot.]
Oh my god, thank you! I can't ask him because he'd just ask you if it was okay and it's this big thing about like proper etiquette or something and that it's not my decision, but a mutual one if we have a private conversation! But privacy! Yes! I mean, he doesn't like hang out in my room and things, but any time I leave, he has to come with me. Like even just to other floors in Lumiere!
[He regrets signing that consent form.]
no subject
How long is he gonna be around...?
[Because, like, she can't imagine living like this forever.]
It's not a permanent thing, right?
no subject
[He expects to screw up somewhere long before the six weeks are up.]
no subject
I think you can do it - you can prove to them you're okay at taking care of yourself.
[Maybe she shouldn't have faith in him, but she does.]
no subject
I think I'm doing better! It'll be fine!
[And now that Marcel's gone, he can ask what he's been wanting to.]
Have they... Is there any more information on who, or what, has been influencing people?
no subject
[It will be fine. She has faith in that much, at least.]
And...no. Not that I've heard of, anyways. I don't know if they're planning on keeping us in the loop, but. [She sighs.] I just hope they can find them before somebody else gets hurt.
no subject
[He smiles, an attempt at reassurance. He will find this person, and they will be dealt with.]
